Social Anxiety Disorder (also known as Social Phobia, or SAD) is a common anxiety disorder whereby the sufferer experiences a persistent debilitating fear of being seen negatively by others, or a fear of behaving in a way that might cause embarrassment or ridicule.  While the sufferer may recognize the fear of social interaction as being irrational, actually overcoming it can be considerably difficult.

Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia) Physical symptoms of SAD include trembling, heart palpitations, blushing, sweating, nausea, and stammering.  Sufferers may also experience panic attacks if the fear is sufficiently intense.

Social anxiety disorder is believed to affect 15 million adults in the United States alone, a staggering 6.8% of the adult population.  The disorder is equally likely to occur in men and women, and there is a high chance of a sufferer also suffering from another anxiety disorder as well.

The disorder is frequently linked with low self-esteem, and also correlates closely with clinical depression.  This may often be due to a lack of personal relationships and/or long periods of isolation resulting from avoidance behaviors.

Traditionally, antidepressant medications were prescribed, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors and monoamine oxidase inhibitors.  Beta-blockers, benzodiazepines, and mirtazapine are also commonly prescribed.

A better way to eliminate social anxiety

Medications are a quick fix, but can lead to dependence and other dangers.  If you are serious about eliminating your social phobia for good (or helping someone you love to overcome theirs), there is a much better solution available.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is widely acknowledged as the most effective remedy for anxiety disorders.  Unfortunately, attending individual sessions with a therapist can end up being prohibitively expensive.

Panic Away Thankfully, there is an affordable, effective solution that teaches you to use advanced psychological techniques to eliminate social anxiety once and for all:
